Welcome to backyardfootyaustralia.com the home of the Backyard Football League of
Australia. Established in 2007 at Jamestown in South Australia, Backyard Footy
promotes participation in Australian Rules Football at a social level for people
aged between 17 and 39 and who don't play regular football. Our main goal is
for everyone to participate and have fun. Our full rules of eligibility are available
on our special rules page.Backyard Footy is a volunteer organisation, who have received significant help from
our local rural comunities here in SA's Mid North, in addition to Mission Australia
and PIRSA. |

SA to take on the Big V in Melbourne |
Backyard Football League Australia has again broken new ground by announcing the
initial State Match to held at Collingwood's former AFL home ground in Melbourne,
Victoria Park. In a return to tradition, the Big V will tackle the Croweaters on their home soil. The State squad will be coached by Nigel "Butch" Bottrall, ably assisted by Michael Redden. |
Grass Roots Footy to return to Appila |
Football is back on the agenda at Appila, with Backyard Footy set to feature at Stacey
Park this August. Coinciding with the match will be the running of the regions richest footrace the Appila gift. |
