Camel Hump Ranges Camels vs Canowie Cows |

In another first, Backyard Footy featured a thoroguhly entertaining and skillful
display of women's football. With the fierce rivalry from the coaching boxes of
David Hill at the Cows and his brother Adrian at the helm of the Camels, this
match was always going to be fiery. With the late scratching of Lindy Bunfield from the Camels side, much of the playmaking responsibilty was placed in the hands of the lesser known players. Heidi Crick, Jane Hancock and Deb Kelly proved pivotal, helping the Camels to an early lead. Some hard work from the Cows through Jemma Sullivan and Mary-Anne Young enable them to peg bag the score and give the tri-colours a slim chance at the last break. But solid pep talk from coach Adrian Hill stirred the Cows in to action, with Hayley Sommerville featuring strongly in a final quarter onslaught to run out comfortable winners. Unfortunately, Cows assistant coach Mark "cueball" Williams incurred a two goal penalty at the major break, after he featured in a minor altercation. This incident has been referred to the match review panel for further investigation. |
