Black Rock Raiders vs Central Forrest Bulldogs |

New boys Black Rock Raiders snuck home in an absoulte thriller against the Central
Forrest Bulldogs. Bulldogs legend Gary Larcombe was left wondering what might
have been after the Raiders kicked much straighter in front of goal, sneaking
home with a two point win depsite having three less scoring shots. The Raiders jumped Centrals early, before some solid work by the Bulldogs Cameron Hillam and Mat Flannery sparke the midfield in to action. David Moore started to come in to the game and South African rugby convert Martinez Boates laid a superb tackle on the Raiders Tom "Gaf" Fahey. However the Raiders Strong forward line of Angas Randall, George Jeffrey and Will Naismith kept the Dogs backmen on their toes. In the end a touched behind by Raider Simon Seppelt saved the match for the Blue and Whites. Clearly the highlight of the day was a miraculous goal from Raiders Indian international Sanjay Faldu. Dogs forward Simon Hockey almost pulled off a screamer of a mark, but didn't quite hold on to it. It was an enrmous leap across the shoulders of Raiders rookie Ken Campbell. A collision between Bulldog Dale Oates and Raider Leon Hams is sure to come to the attention of the match review panel. |
